Help us promote the special performance fundraiser of
Romeo & Juliet
...and celebrate spring, literary education, and a love of Shakespeare during a Midspring Night's Dream on First Friday!
The Seattle Shakespeare Company is coming to Chelan High School to perform Romeo and Juliet on April 7th: first for students in the afternoon and then for the public at 7pm that evening at the PAC as a fundraiser.
Working with Leslie Blair from Chelan High School and Rober Fifer of Gear Up, the HDCA urges you to buy tickets for the April 7th performance, because...

Of course, many of our local non-profits will be joining us as usual!
· Get information from the Genealogy Society in front of Company 107. Maybe Shakespeare is a distant relative?
· TLC4 Troops www.tlc4troops.bravehost.com will be collect hygiene products, socks, non-perishable snack items, games and cash donations for care packages for our US soldiers abroad.
· Hospital Guild Y will be selling See's Candy.
· Chelan 4-H girls will be dressed up as renaissance maidens. They will be selling princess crowns and baked goods.
· The “2” Amigos playing timeless music at the Historical Museum.
· Valley Bloomers will be selling Heirloom seeds and tickets for their Harriet Dowdall Memorial raffle of a quail decoy, Their gardening advice is free!
· Chelan Dog’s Jon and Robbie Luke at Whaley’s.
· Visit with the Soroptomists about the Chelan Chase and Bea Murphy on Earth Day
· Lake Chelan Valley EMS will have their ambulance on hand and volunteers from the SPHERE Program will be doing blood pressure and glucose monitoring in front of Radio Shack.

With Earth Day on the horizon and the Lake Chelan Earth Day Fair coming to Riverwalk Park on April 18th, we are embraced the environmental theme downtown once again this month.

The first 11 families to visit each participating merchant will receive a packet of flower seeds. With sunshine on its way, one more way to brighten your day and our planet.

While you're there, be sure to check out the artwork created by Chelan Valley Independent School Art Students.

Meet the Manson Apple Blossom royalty: Queen, Kelsey Harding; Along with Whitney England and Marci Nelson.

The Historical Museum will feature the Three Amigos.

Chelan 4H will have a bake sale located near the Historic Downtown Chelan Association Sea-Doo Raffle.

Between Memories by the Lake and Main Street Gallery, meet with the Lake Chelan-Guatemala Mission Team 2009 and learn about their efforts. Volunteers will be on hand to talk about their trip coming up in April.

Main St Gallery will host artist, and part time Chelan resident, Cameron Elder. A member of the Lake Chelan Arts Council, she works in mixed media, collage, watercolor small bronzes and photography.

The Vogue…a Liquid Lounge, will feature music from 8-10 pm, all ages welcome, no cover. Experience live music, enjoy a glass of wine and a "slice of community".

Manson's Valley Bloomers will be back with their raffle and lots of ideas for your garden. A sale of heirloom seeds will benefit Heritage Heights.

Earth Day volunteers who help with the Earth Day Litter Cleanup and Metal Collection Event will be on hand with information.

Bea Murphy will return with information on the 3 R's-Reduce, Reuse and Recycle-she is coordinator of Earth Day's Flea Market.

Mark Tesch will be asking for volunteers to help with children's programs on Earth Day using recycled craft items. He will also have information about Sherry Palmiter's ideas for a Kinetic Sculpture for Earth Day Powered by: Solar, Wind, Water and Human!!

Back by popular demand, Maria Young, using bags of soil, "dirt bags", with drip irrigation for growing gardens outside of the ground.

Whaleys will host Chelan Dog's Robin and Jon Luke, who will talk about green practices with your pet.
